Safety Training
All graduate students must receive safety training offered by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) during their orientation by the University. In addition, each student should receive safety training from their advisor or a designated trainer according to the respective Safety Plan for each of the advisor’s laboratories. If a student is going to work in a laboratory that does not belong to their advisor, that student must receive the required safety training for that laboratory space by the respective faculty or their designated trainer. In some cases, such as working with radiological or biological agents, the student must receive additional training offered by EHS. In all cases, the student’s advisor should determine which additional training is required.
