Health Insurance

All MS and PhD students on campus are required to have health insurance. Students on a teaching or research assistantship and who meet GSSP eligibility requirements are automatically enrolled in the Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan and premiums are paid by the University. The insurance covers the student and other family members can also be added at additional cost. Go to the Student Blue site directly for additional information about your health insurance plan.

If the student does not receive an assistantship and does not meet GSSP eligibility, then health insurance is still required. The mandatory Student Health Insurance plan (SHIP) is available to all on-campus students. If you have your own insurance, you may waive out of the program.
