Required Actions for PhD Students
In order to successfully complete your PhD degree, you will need to complete the following actions. For more information, consult the Graduate Services Coordinator – Angie Barefoot.

Request to schedule the preliminary oral examination | No later than one semester prior to final oral examination and after written preliminary examination has been completed successfully. Request for Approval to Schedule Doctoral Oral Examination must be received by the Graduate School at least 10 working days prior to proposed examination date | Initiated by student by submission of the Request to Schedule Doctoral Oral Examination and submitted to the DGP at least 12 working days before the scheduled examination date. |
Report on outcome of the preliminary oral exam. | Immediately after the oral examination is completed | Advisor submits results to DGP who submits to the Graduate School |

Final oral examination | No earlier than four calendar months after passing the preliminary oral examination.
